Description:
Giacomini R140/R140M safety valves serve as a safety device preventing overpressure in pressure vessels in heating systems, in sanitary hot and cold water systems. The valves comply with the PED 2014/68/EU directive.

Function:
Safety valves are used in closed heating systems with an expansion vessel to ensure that the overpressure of the liquid inside the heating system does not exceed the limits required by the design. If the force caused by the overpressure is greater than the spring force acting on the diaphragm, the diaphragm will lift and the excess liquid will begin to drain until the forces are balanced again and the diaphragm closes within the permitted tolerance. Safety valves can also be used for cold water supply
sanitary systems. Safety valves are supplied calibrated and it is not possible to change the setting value.
